LOUISIANA · ADA TITLE II · WCAG 2.1 AA

ADA Title II website accessibility for Louisiana special districts, cities and towns.

The Department of Justice now requires every state and local government website in Louisiana to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We audit your site, fix the problems, and hand your board the documentation. One flat fee, delivered remotely, on your schedule.

No obligation. We run an automated scan of your site’s main pages and send the findings, whether you hire us or not.

Who the rule covers in Louisiana

The DOJ rule applies to every public entity, with no minimum population or budget. In Louisiana that includes:

  • special districts
  • cities and towns
  • counties
  • school districts
  • library districts
  • fire protection districts
  • water and sewer districts
  • park and recreation districts

If residents pay a bill, submit a form, read an agenda or download a notice on your website, the rule applies to you, including any third-party portals you link to.

98

Reachable homepages with flagged issues

Images without alt text, unlabeled form fields, and links a screen reader cannot announce were the most common findings. Nearly all of it is routine to fix.

47
Reachable sites with no accessibility statement we could find

The statement is a one-page fix and the first thing reviewers look for.

Your Louisiana deadline

The federal rule sets two dates, based on the population you serve. The DOJ has stated it anticipates enforcing the rule at these dates. The underlying ADA obligation exists today; residents can bring accessibility complaints now.

April 26, 2027Public entities serving a population of 50,000 or more.
April 26, 2028Public entities under 50,000, and all special district governments regardless of size.

Some states add their own accessibility requirements on top of the federal rule. The federal standard is the floor everywhere, and it is what we audit against.
